Bay State Truck Service is looking for an experienced Diesel / Automotive Mechanic to join our team in Springfield, Massachusetts.
We offer a supportive, team-oriented work environment where experienced technicians can continue learning and developing their skills. Our 14-bay facility is equipped to service and repair light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles, providing our technicians with a variety of challenging and rewarding work.

Compensation
$34–$40 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.

Are you an experienced diesel technician or foreman ready to take the next step in your career?
Bay State Truck Service is looking for a hands-on Diesel Foreman / Mechanic to join our team. We're looking for someone who can lead by example, support and mentor our technicians, and help keep our shop operating safely and efficiently.
This is a working foreman position, so you'll have the opportunity to use both your technical expertise and leadership skills while working alongside an experienced team.
What You'll Do
As a Diesel Foreman / Mechanic, you'll:
- Work alongside technicians as needed, providing hands-on support and guidance
- Oversee shop operations and help ensure work is completed accurately and efficiently
- Assist technicians with complex diagnostics and repairs
- Perform quality checks and road tests
- Help maintain shop equipment
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
- Mentor and support technicians as they develop their skills
- Communicate clearly and effectively with technicians and management
- Help maintain the high standard of workmanship our customers expect
What We're Looking For
- At least 5 years of experience as a diesel technician or equivalent
- Foreman or leadership experience preferred
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Solid experience with light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicle repair and maintenance
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities
- Ability to lead by example while remaining hands-on in the shop
- Commitment to quality workmanship, safety, and teamwork
Compensation
$40–$43 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
